Merdan wrote his story in a couple wechat threads to different people. I was shown the ones he sent to his uncle, which is the longest account. I saw some texts he sent to someone else, which was similar but more condensed than the version sent to his uncle. He called police "Po-po" in one of those--in English. And used the term 傻逼which he didn't in the version to his uncle. Otherwise, he cut and pasted some text, or maybe just used similar phrases in telling the story to another wechat contact.
